Remember the Tom Cruise science fiction movie Minority Report from a few years ago? It was set about 50 years in the future, so there were a lot of fictional, futuristic technologies shown.
One of the things in the movie was billboards and other large ads that displayed an ad targeted to the person near the ad at the time. Some of these ads even called the person by name.
Now this is one step closer to reality. A Paris-based company called Quividi has billboards with cameras that use advanced software to guess the sex and approximate age of people in the crowd, then uses that to display an ad targeted to those people.
